## About the Hotel

Settha Palace Hotel is located at 6 Pangkham Street, in the centre of Vientiane, Lao PDR — the quiet, walkable capital of Laos. Originally built circa 1932 as "Le Bungalow" during the French colonial period, the building served as a hub for dignitaries, expatriates, and local elites before falling into ruin following the change of political regime in 1975.

The hotel was reclaimed and lovingly restored over five years (1994–1999) by Billy Theodas, a Laotian-born Frenchman who spent his childhood in the hotel when his family operated it. He and his mother returned the property to its former imperial glory, sparing no expense and leaving no stone unturned. The hotel has been owned and operated by the same family ever since.

The hotel is painted in its original beige with mahogany-brown windows, and the interior features marble floors, rosewood furnishings, brass chandeliers, high ceilings, arched doorways, ceiling fans, and a grand chandelier in the lobby. It is widely regarded as Vientiane's finest hotel.
